Where do Scots go on holiday
Saturday, January 06 2007
According to an article at the BBC News website the most popular international destination for Scots in 2006 was Amsterdam, according to BAA Scotland. The Scots prefer Amsterdam over some Spanish top resorts which is amazing if you think about it. The weather in Amsterdam doesn't differ that much from Scotland although it is slightly warmer and less rainy. It must be Amsterdam's special tourist attractions that appeal to so many and the famous Red Light District will certainly play an important role. Amsterdam is also a very popular destination for people from other countries and the city has lots to offer. I only live 30 minutes away from Amsterdam but I have to admit I seldomly visit the capitol of the Netherlands. My favorite travel destination is Scotland and The Isle of Islay in particular. Other favorite destinations for Scots are: 2. Palma 3. Alicante 4. Malaga 5. Tenerife 6. New York 7. Paris 8. Faro 9. Dubai 10. Sanford
