Rush Hour in the Highlands

Any tourist to Scotland has seen the postcard of sheep being driven down the road. I had the good fortune of experiencing it first hand.
It was an early Saturday and we were driving along the east side of Loch Ness on our way to Nairn. Down the road came two men, four border collies and more sheep than we could count.
One of the shepherds offered to let us pass, but we said no thanks. After all, we were in no hurry to get anywhere and probably wouldn't get another experience like this.
One of the gentlemen spoke to us as we waiting for the flock to pass. It seems they had driven the sheep 5 miles that morning. On occasion, one of the animals would just fall down - collapse from the run. The shepherds would put the animal on all fours and it would start running along as if nothing had happened.
Finally the "traffic" eased and we were back on our way, but we took a wonderful memory with us.
