Muckle Flugga Shetland whisky

Months before a new malt whisky from the Blackwood Distillers will be available the bottles are already selling for hundreds of pounds per bottle. Blackwood Distillers announced at the end of September that they will bring out a vatted whisky, a blend from several single malts, that will be matured on the island of Unst in the Shetlands. Muckle Flugga, named after the most northerly rocks in Britain, is the first whisky available from Blackwood's new whisky distillery. The first limited edition of Muckle Flugga will be available around May 2007.

The picture on the right is made by Rog Frost and shows Muckle Flugga and Lighthouse on the northern most tip of The Shetlands.
