Davaar Cave Painting vandalised

In 1879 a local Campbeltown artist walked over to Davaar Island and painted the crucifixion in one of the caves on the southern side of the island. Throughout the years local artists have maintained (and altered) the painting, which has been a major attraction in the area with many people walking over to the island each year just to see it! Now it seems someone else had a different reason for making the journey after it was discovered in the last week that the painting had been vandalised
